The Origin

Honestly, I wish that the birth of Limited Drops was one of those cool origin stories that you hear sometimes. But nope, this brand was born out of ridicule and desperation, but this all led to a beautiful realization of self discovery and self expression. Please allow me to explain without boring the sh*t out of you.

The year is 2019 and my life is an absolute sh*t-show.  But if you look at my Instagram during that time you would think that I had it all together.  I was living off Hollywood Blvd, spending my days with the likes of Snoop Dogg, to spending my evenings with the elite of young Hollywood at open bar events. On the surface you're gonna see a dude that is smiling and looking happy, but underneath that was a dude barely making rent, filled with self doubt and didn't know what his next career move was...but I was a snazzy dresser though. In these photos you'll notice that I'm wearing an LA County hat, I loved this hat because it was black, it represented my city and the structure of the crown allowed me to dress it "up" for events.

I really loved this damn hat.  I wore it everywhere.  To movie premieres, to UFC fights, to Disneyland...hell, even to hookah and McDonalds.  I loved this hat so much that I would own multiple versions of this hat.  One for errands, one for events, one just in case I lost one.  The entire time I'm just thinking that I'm fresh...and well, I was, but in June 2019, all of that would change for me.   I went to meet my buddies Mike and Rush for drinks at 40 Love.  Upon sitting down, Rush looks at me and says "Ahh, I see you're wearing your uniform tonight." I'm not gonna lie, that statement caught me off guard because I never looked at it from his perspective, cause I thought I was fresh-to-death at all times. When he said it, it completely devastated me inside.  But looking back now, LMAO!, that was an amazing joke and I'm so thankful for it because it helped me start customizing my own hats.

When I got home later that night, I had a Peter Klaven moment. But instead of "I gotta get some f%ckin' friends" I said "I gotta get some new f&ckin' hats" and in that very moment I glance at my rickety Ikea computer desk and see the Lannister patch that I got at the 2018 Comic-Con laying right beside one of my "uniform" County hats.  So I grabbed some super glue and decided to put fate in God's hands.  I LOVED the end result.  So much so that I decided to bring it with me to 2019 Comic-Con in July.

When I get to Comic-Con, walking the show floor with my custom hat on, I start hearing "hey man, nice hat", "I like that patch", "dude where did you get that hat?" and they were all directed to me.  My broham V was there and he heard the compliments and saw my reaction afterwards.  When I got home that Sunday, I knew that I had to make more hats for myself.  I wanted different designs because I didn't want these hats to become stale to me.  From that evening, "The Poppy", "The Hollywood", "The Board of Education" and "The Great Seal" hats were born.  Each seal represented part of my city that I loved and wanted to represent.

In August of 2019, Limited Drops made its first sale.  200+ hats sold later, I'm forever grateful for everyone that has been part of this journey. Every sale means the world to me.  In creating this brand, I've learned humility, appreciation, sacrifice and gratitude.  I continue to learn daily and I'm grateful for who I am today and I'm truly grateful for all of the support that I receive.  This is a labor of love and each hat that is shipped out is a reflection of that love.   Extra special thank you to my bro Ronnel P for helping me out of the gate and shoutout to Jeremy Rosenfeld & Natalie Kanooni for making the first two purchases ever!

Thank you for your support!

PS : I've always loved hats, this brand was never born because I became bald.  That was just my destiny.  But, #baldisbeautiful and if you've read this far, thank you.  You should enter #baldisbeautiful as a promo code for a "handshake thank-you"
